September 2026 inflation data

The UK’s inflation rate in September 2026 - as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) - was 3.5%.

The detailed figures for the year to September 2026 are:

• CPI inflation was 3.5% in September (Index: 144.1), up from 3.1% in the year to August
• RPI* inflation was 3.9% in September (Index: 422.1), up from 3.4% in the year to August
• CPIH inflation was 3.6% in September (Index: 144.0), up from 3.3% in the year to August

*The Office for National Statistics no longer regards the RPI as an official measure of inflation.
