The UK’s inflation rate in May 2026 - as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) - was 2.8%.
The detailed figures for the year to May 2026 are:
- CPI inflation was 2.8% in May 2026 (Index: 142.4), unchanged from the year to April
- RPI* inflation was 3.1% in May 2026 (Index: 415.3), slightly up from 3.0% in the year to April
- CPIH inflation was 3.0% in May 2026 (Index: 142.1), unchanged from the year to April
