September 2025 inflation data

The UK’s inflation rate in September 2025, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was unchanged for the third consecutive month at 3.8%.

The detailed figures for the year to September 2025 are:

  • CPI inflation was 3.8% in September 2025 (Index: 139.3), unchanged from the year to August
  • RPI* inflation was 4.5% in September 2025 (Index: 406.1), down from 4.6% in the year to August
  • CPIH inflation was 4.1% in September 2025 (Index: 138.9), unchanged from the year to August

*The Office for National Statistics no longer regards the RPI as an official measure of inflation.
