Pay data: three months to October 2025

Various research bodies have published pay data for the three months to the end of October 2025.

  • Brightmine recorded a median basic pay award of 3.3% for the three months to the end of October, driven mostly by public sector agreements. Pay expectations for 2026 remain centred around a 3% increase, with employers signalling another year of controlled and moderate awards. The CIPD’s autumn Labour Market Outlook echoes this with the median expected basic pay increase for the next 12 months at 3% overall.
  • Incomes Data Research focuses on the private sector and shows the median pay award at 3.4% for the three months to October. (interquartile range: 3.0% to 4.0%). 
  • According to the LRD Payline, the median pay increase was 3.0% in the three months to October, with the public sector at 4%.
