Pay data: three months to November 2022

Three research organisations have published pay data for the three months to the end of November 2022.

  • Incomes Data Research  show the median pay increase for the three months to November at 5.0% (interquartile range 2.6% to 7.0%). As regards pay intentions for 2023, IDR finds that over half of employers anticipate awarding increases of 5% or more.
  • XpertHR also recorded a median basic pay award of 5.0% across the whole economy for the tsame period, its highest monitored level for 31 years.
  • According to the Labour Research Department, the median pay increase remained at 7.2% on lowest basic rates over the three months to November. The median increase is slightly higher in the private sector, where there have been pay deals worth around 10% or more in transport, car manufacturing and some retail-related bargaining groups.
