January 2026 inflation data

The UK’s inflation rate in January 2026, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 3.0%.

The detailed figures for the year to January 2026 are:

  • CPI inflation was 3.0% in January 2026 (Index: 139.5), down from 3.4% in the year to December 2025
  • RPI* inflation was 3.8% in January 2026 (Index: 406.4), down from 4.2% in the year to December 2025
  • CPIH inflation was 3.2% in January 2026 (Index: 139.4) down from 3.6% in the year to December 2025

 

*The Office for National Statistics no longer regards the RPI as an official measure of inflation.
