The UK’s inflation rate in August 2025, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 3.8%.

The detailed figures for the year to August 2025 are:

• CPI inflation was 3.8% in August 2025 (Index: 139.3), unchanged from the year to July
• RPI* inflation was 4.6% in August 2025 (Index: 407.7), down from 4.8% in the year to July
• CPIH inflation was 4.1% in August 2025 (Index:138.9), down from 4.2% in the year to July

*The Office for National Statistics no longer regards the RPI as an official measure of inflation.
