July 2023 inflation data

The UK’s inflation rate in July 2023, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 6.8%.

The detailed inflation measures for the year to July 2023 are as follows:

  • CPI inflation was 6.8% in July 2023 (Index: 130.9), down from 7.9% in the year to June
  • RPI* inflation was 9.0% in July 2023 (Index: 374.2), down from 10.7% in the year to June
  • CPIH inflation was 6.4% in July 2023 (Index: 129.0), down from 7.3% in the year to June

*The Office for National Statistics no longer regards the RPI as an official measure of inflation.
