October 2017 inflation data
CPI inflation holds steady but RPI inflation reaches 4% mark.
The main inflation measures for the year to October 2017 are:
- CPI inflation was 3.0% in October (Index – 104.2), unchanged from the year to September
- CPIH inflation was 2.8% in October (Index – 104.4), unchanged from the year to September
- RPI inflation was 4.0% in October (Index – 275.3), up from 3.9% in the year to September
The CPIH measure is now the Office of National Statistic’s preferred index, see ‘New inflation measure’.
