End of shielding programme

People previously considered to be clinically extremely vulnerable will no longer be advised to follow shielding guidance.

The decision follows the booster vaccination roll-out for individuals and adult household contacts of those immunosuppressed, the success of the vaccination programme and proven treatments and the impact shielding previously had on people’s mental and physical health. For more details, see the Department of Health and Social Care announcement.
