Three pay research organisations have published pay data for the three months to the end of September 2022.

• XpertHR recorded a median basic pay award of 4.0% across the whole economy for the three months to the end of September (lower quartile: 2.9%; upper quartile: 5.0%).
• Incomes Data Research also show the median at 4% for the same period: interquartile range 3.2% to 5.0%.
• In the three months ending in September 2022, the median increase in settlements monitored on the Payline database from the Labour Research Department was 5.9% on lowest pay rates and 5.0% for most workers covered by the settlement (the standard increase).

XpertHR also predicts that, based on responses from 323 private-sector organisations, the median pay award in the 12 months to the end of August 2023 will be 5.0%.
