Pay data: three months to July 2019
There looks to have been a slight uptick in median pay awards.
- XpertHR also shows the median basic pay award in the three months to July 2019 at 2.6% - the first time its headline figure has risen above 2.5% since December 2008 - with the interquartile range being 2% (the lower quartile) and 3.0% (the upper quartile). XpertHR’s sample is relatively small and it warns that ‘it may be too soon to say that this is the start of a sustained increase’. Manufacturers made awards at a median 3%.
- The Labour Research Department’s Payline also shows the median increase at 2.6%.
- Incomes Data Research show the median award across the whole economy at 2.5%.
