Today - 25 May 2018 - is GDPR (the General Data Protection Regulation) Day.

On 23 May the Data Protection Bill received Royal Assent to become the Data Protection Act 2018 - it repeals the Data Protection Act 1998 and enshrines the GDPR standards in UK law. Our website features a Guide to the GDPR, fully updated for the new Act and guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office. The European Commission has also published Seven steps for businesses to get ready for the General Data Protection Regulation - aimed at helping those companies that do not handle personal data as a core business activity, such as SMEs that mainly deal with personal data of their employees or have lists of clients and customers.
