New Data Protection Bill outlined

In advance of its publication in autumn 2017, the government has outlined the scope of the forthcoming Data Protection Bill.

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport has issued a statement of intent which outlines the likely scope of this Bill and the government’s response to the consultation on it. The Bill will bring the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) into UK law. This implementation of the GDPR (by May 2018) will bring changes to the rules on the information you need to provide and the processes you’ll have to follow. The effect of this is covered in our guidance note.
