December 2017 inflation data
CPI inflation fell slightly at the end of 2017 but RPI inflation (most commonly used in pay setting) breaks through the 4% mark.
The inflation measures for the year to December 2017 are:
- CPI inflation was 3.0% in December (Index: 104.9), down from 3.1% in the year to November 2017
- CPIH inflation was 2.7% in December (Index: 105.0), down from 2.8% in the year to November 2017
- RPI inflation was 4.1% in December (Index: 278.1), up from 3.9% in the year to November 2017
